A Few of Our Favorite Things

Those who are privy to our prayer notes may think much of life in Romania is always hard.
Alas, tis time we correct that thinking.
Here are a FEW of our favorite THINGS.
The history of this country is rich. Above you see Ben (visiting from the States), Matt, and Vali (from our youth group) while sight seeing. This castle belonged to Vlad the Impaler. Does "I want to suck your blood" ring any bells? The views here are not typical American fare. This shot of the Orthodox church in our village would make you wonder if God dwells there. From what we've heard, HE DOESN'T. (Thanks Josh, for the picture.)

More than once we've mentioned the great food. Patisseries can be found almost anywhere but our village. Most of the desserts are made with sugar, lard and fruit syrup. Often the Romanians eat one of these for breakfast or lunch. We eat them whenever we can. The cost? A BIG treat is often less than $1.00.

The mountains are about 2 1/2 hours from us. They may make the Tetons and the Rockies jealous. Above is Anna, Kendra (from the States) and Mikayla.

During the day we hear the horse carts clop by at least every 10 min.
It's like the sound of huge raindrops on a tin roof.
Another time we'll show you more of our favorites. The best idea, though, is for you to come over and discover some favorites of your own.
