Caring

Tiny steps echo on the floor above me. In the hall indecipherable (to me) conversation takes place. The sounds could be the same in any home around the world. But these sounds are bigger, more intense. I guess that's what you'd expect as THIS home currently holds 4 moms, 2 moms-to-be, and 10 kids.

Three of the moms, with their kids, live here permanently. The others stay here, safely tucked in, until their babies bloom and are born.

Big brown eyes greet us in the morning, and little bodies crawl on our laps at night. Soft hands grab ours as we walk, struggling free if a neighborhood dog or goat go by.

One of the moms does the laundry. Several of them clean. Each are taught to serve others, yet still care for her own.

God has brought a social worker/nurse, a counselor and others to show His love to these moms full-time.
Things run smoothly and we don't feel we offer much. We walk with the mom's to school, watch kids, provide rides, or at times stoke the fire.

Why, we've even offered a cup of water. Didn't Jesus talk about that??
