Thanks for Giving

Thanksgiving Sunday
has got to be one of my favorite events in Bircii. It's not a national holiday, but one celebrated individually by many of the churches in this country.

It's hard not to smile when you see
the front of the church holding the bounty of the earth. Almost all of this food was raised on the land we walk past every day. It was furrowed and planted and hoed and weeded and canned or baked
by the folks sitting right next to us in church.

It's a special day, and it grows more festive as some of our friends from the neighboring church in Potcoava come in. The kids and church members treat us to songs, and ...

the youth group add more worship.
( Our Anna is in the orchestra, but she's hidden in the photo.)
Ron serves up the gospel,

and Necu*, our main speaker, dishes out more words of Life.

How refreshing to gaze at His bounty and thank Him for giving.

It's not so bad, either, to get in on the treats after the service.
Did someone say dessert?

Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known among the nations what he has done.
1 Chronicles 16:8

*Bummer. I had a picture of Necu, but lost it in computer land.

The pictures bring back wonderful memories of the blessings we experienced in August during our visit in Bircii. God bless!
